Dungeon World Campaign: Scurvy - Adventure 8

Adventure 8: The Port of Bondye Bijou
Player Characters:
Mike as Z - the swashbuckling scoundrel vampire
Stephen as Geralt Darkstar - the cursed pirate alchemist

The party made the voyage from the shattered continent to the port of Bondye Bijou without problem. Arriving at the port for the first time, they were greeted by it's 3 massive bridges that spanned to outer islands in the bay. The bridges so large that much of the town was built on top of them. Beneath the bridges the harbor workers operated large cranes attached to the bottom of the bridge, the goods were offloaded, hoisted up to the bridge's belly, where workers offloaded everything to conveyor belts that lead to the various shipping warehouses in the area.

Not wanting to attract much attention, the party left their robot companions on their boat and docked away from the port, hidden in a secret cove. They headed straight for the seediest bar they could find. In this case it happened to be the Sleepy Pelican, a bar known for it's halfling pipeleaf. "Brought in fresh from the plantations each morning" the leaf-tender was fond of saying.

The party's goal was to ask around about the recent rise in cult activity in the area without drawing too much attention. Z turned up the charm with the waitress and naturally she was more than happy to gossip about the strange cloaked gentleman that had been there all day in the corner. They had a weird fishy smell about them, but not like the rest of the fisherman. This was more like a rotting fish smell. The paid a large amount of gold to sit there, but never order anything and you can barely see their faces.

The party decided to follow these figures as soon as they make a move to leave. Through luck and witchcraft they were able to stumble loudly through the shadows, but remain undetected. Eventually they happened upon the figures meeting a man dressed like the captain of a free merchant ship. They witnessed a strange one sided conversation where the man spoke to the figures and responded, but the party heard no voices.

It seemed as though he was being hired to find something for the cultists with the promise of power in exchange for finding this object of theirs. After agreeing to their unheard terms, the man left into the night and the cultists descended below the dock.

Z pounced into action in pursuit of the captain. Geralt took his shadow and followed the cultists.

Z tried to be a dashing daredevil, but was maybe laughing a little TOO confidently when he took off. Luckily after swinging around a the dock storehouse, thanks to some oddly but handily placed mast rigging, he managed to get on his feet and caught the captain off-guard.

Z had no time for games, drew his dagger, and immediately put it to the captain's throat and began to interrogate him about his dealings with the cult. The captain was reluctant to be forthcoming, but Z gave him a few light stabs of his dagger to remind him who was in charge. The captain blurted out they were after a keystone from a long forgotten mining village on Bondye Bijou. Z left the captain to bleed among the shipping crates and hurried back to Geralt.

Geralt told Z that below the docks, the cultists stepped into the waves and their bodies simply melted into the foam leaving only their cloaks. Geralt had grabbed two, just in case they ever came in handy later.

The party immediately headed out for the jungle. They planned to make it to the pipe-leaf plantation village at the edge of the Lost Jungle.

Z said: "I believe I had a lover there. Perhaps she can help us." as the party headed inland from the port.

Geralt said: "If it is anything like the last one, I'm leaving you with her and going on without you."

Will the party find the key stone in the forgotten mining village? Will they survive the maze like tangles of the Lost Jungle? Will Z's insatiable lust for loose women and hasty retreats come back to bite him in the ass again?
