Adventure 10: Getting Lost to Find the Lost Village
Player Characters:
Mike as Z - the swashbuckling scoundrel vampire
Stephen as Geralt Darkstar - the cursed pirate alchemist

"We aren't evil baby, I promise. This just looks evil," Z said to Famn as her jaw dropped at the sight of food rotting in Geralt's hands as he absorbed it's essence before laying down for the sleep of the dead.

Z  himself sweaty from the whole he dug to bury himself under the earth to heal. During his slumber he woke a thirst for blood inside him he wasn't expecting. It was manageable for now, but it gave Z chills at the unnatural desire.

The next morning, somehow they had convinced Famn to stay with them. The party set out, with Z confidently leading the way. After some time it became clear that Z was leading the party in a circle again. Geralt was fed up and demanded to take the lead, before storming wildly into the jungle. His bushwhacker technique worked and they came upon the Lost Village.

Hundreds of small stone huts lined ancient cobblestone streets. The village was in the shadow of an unnatural mountain that barely reached the tops of the trees in the jungle (maybe 100ft high).

Exploring the huts they found doors that lead below the surface. Geralt sent his familiar down to scout out the area. It discovered some blocked passages as well as what seemed to be a whole house underground, made entirely of stone that was just off the area at the bottom of the stairs. The party headed down after finding it was safe.

They began working to clear the tunnels. Geralt used too much force on the wall of debris and fell through, bringing down the wall, and tumbling down the incline that was behind the wall.

At the bottom of the incline, he heard the sounds of creatures further in. He got close enough to know there were several creatures gathered near a fire, but stayed out of sight so as not to alarm whatever it may be.

On his way back to inform Z, he stumbled, tripped, and fell while trying to climb up the incline. He smashed through a door off the side of the main passage and smashed through a lot of clay pottery.Creating a loud enough noise to alert the creatures by the fire. Z decided to help and in the process fell down the incline as well creating an even louder noise.

The creatures were grotesque orange, yellow, and red skinned monsters. Short with floppy ears, bulbous noses, and some sort of disease all over their faces. Z acted quickly and barfed up a spider's net to block the passage.

The goblins saw the net and blew a warhorn to alert a bigger goblin with a large club to come help.

Geralt decided to take a shot form the shadows he generated with his witchcraft; which ended up looking like a perfect shadow outline of himself. His shot missed, but ignited the spider's web Z had put up for defense.

Z sprung into action and threw a dagger at the big goblin, injuring it severely. It bellowed in pain, alerting a withered looking goblin wizard. The wizard sent a ball of acid toward the party, but they luckily dived out of the way.

Z managed to find a piece of stretched rope that had a counter weight at the end of the hall. He grabbed Geralt and grabbed the rope, before severing it and letting the counter weight fling them both down the hallway. Tossing Geralt at the end of the line so that he landed behind the wizard and backstabbed him.

The melee that ensued gave the party some fresh scars, but they were able to defeat the goblins. They also discovered the that big goblin had turned the keystone into his club....eventually.

Having recovered the keystone they made their escape of the Goblin Warrens. Causing an avalanche of debris on their way out. Narrowly escaping the partial tunnel collapse they caused.

On the surface, they found themselves immediately surrounded by a group of soldiers and mercenaries, lead by the man they had assaulted at the port to get information about what the cult was after on the island. Needless to say he was thrilled to see the party and the keystone emerge from the tunnel, but none of the reasons he was happy about it are any good for the party.

Will they manage to escape with the keystone? Or will they be lucky to even escape with their lives? Will they convince the pirates to let them go? Or will they fight their way out?
